Dear  CWA Member,

Welcome to the Canterbury Windsports Association website. The first thing you'll want to do is set your preferred password, but before you do, we'd like you to know about some of the benefits of becoming a financial member of the CWA...

Events: The CWA organises events and competitions such as the annual camp at Lake Clearwater  over Canterbury Show Weekend - as much fun for families as for hardcore sailors. We also have an  introduction to windsurfing on Lyttelton Harbour, beginners clinics for youth and women, Canterbury Championships for both Windsurfing and Kiteboarding, and other events to get you motivated and out there, improving your performance and style amongst like minded friends.

Club nights: We meet regularly over the sailing season for social nights, which can include guest speakers, videos, new gear and destinations. Notification is generally via the website newsletter.

Learner gear: The CWA has two windsurf boards and rigs for use at club events, and by members to help get started before buying gear.

Safety: The CWA has developed a windsports responsibility code and local safety guidelines, for both personal and public safety. We want everyone to go home uninjured.

Environment: We provide a point of contact between windsports enthusiasts and local authorities, as well as other users of the locations we like to sail. This has become an increasingly important role.

Website: This is our main focus for communication with and amongst members, and includes a calendar of events, user forums, news, weather, locations, and the convenience of online payment of annual subscriptions.

So, now that you've registered for the website, we hope you enjoy a taste of what the CWA has to offer, from having new experiences, to making new friends.
